Mack Brown will meet the press this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. central time. As with all of his pressers, you can watch the streaming action live on TexasSports.TV or on the Longhorn Network.
Time to R.I.S.E. and shine boys and girls. Football officially kicks off today with the annual Mack Brown fall camp press conference. Entering his 15th season (yes, you read that right) as head football coach of The University of Texas Longhorns, Coach Brown will give a state-of-the-program review and a typical Q&A session with leading members of the sports press.
Wescott provided us a comprehensive fall camp preview but expect Coach Brown to discuss some behind the scenes newsworthy topics including an update on any attrition and insight into lingering injuries, specifically the status of preseason All-American candidate Jackson Jeffcoat, Paul Hornung Award watch candidate Quandre Diggs, and the on-again/off-again status of redshirt sophomore wideout John Harris.
It would not surprise me to hear him mention the contributions of the latest staff addition, Assistant Athletic Director/Sports Dietician, Dr. Amy Culp.
While asked and answered on numerous occasions, expect a question about the offseason troubles of Kenny Vaccaro and Alex Okafor. Hopefully he will be able to once and for all put this to rest.
We'll learn about the "heated" battle for QB and who, right now, are taking the club house leadership duties by the horns.
Much of the above will be regurgitated from Big 12 media days and the luncheon circuit.
Finally, a significant amount of time will be spent on the unbelievable events surrounding recruiting that occurred last Thursday, his change in philosophy, and the potential impacts of this new recruiting paradigm moving forward. SBN's Bud Elliot has a great primer on this topic.
Fall camp officially kicks off Sunday as players report with a shells and shorts day.
T-minus 27 days until football at DKR.
