A'Shawn Robinson finally visiting Alabama for official

Texas fans will surely be nervous this weekend as 2013 Fort Worth Arlington Heights defensive tackle pledge A'Shawn Robinson journeys to Alabama to visit the Crimson Tide and Nick Saban's evil empire.*

Robinson, who received visits from Texas coaches this week and will complete his official visit process with a trip to Austin on January 25th, had to cancel a previous planned trip to Tuscaloosa, and has visited Florida State, TCU, and USC in the last several months.

As he has throughout the process, Robinson has maintained that he's firmly committed to the Longhorns and is merely visiting other schools to make sure of his decision.

After taking in USC, it seemed like Robinson's time in Los Angeles might have been more than that, as stories circulated about how outgoing the normally reserved 6-5, 300-pounder was while there. Robinson also grew up a USC fan.

At the time, the story was that Robinson's mother wanted to keep him close to home, but the man-child now nicknamed Kimbo Slice because of his beard flatly denied that report to SB Nation Recruiting at the Army Bowl.

Does that mean anything? About as much as Robinson saying he's 100% committed to Texas.

The Trojans still seem to loom as the most serious threat to Texas to land Robinson's signature, but the allure of Alabama, especially considering the massive recent success, has to be terrifying for the fans of any opposing program that has committed prospects going to Tuscaloosa.

At least the Longhorns will have the final say in terms of official visits.
