The Texas Longhorns will introduce new head football coach Charlie Strong in an press conference on Monday morning at 11 a.m. CT.
The press conference will be televised on Longhorn Network, streamed online at Texassports.com, and broadcast on the radio in Austin on KVET AM 1300. It's also possible that one of the ESPN family of networks picks up parts of the press conference.
Strong's official hiring was announced on Sunday afternoon after the former Louisville head coach met with athletic director Tom Jurich to inform Jurich of his intentions to leave for the job in Austin. By Sunday afternoon, Strong and his family were in Texas.

With lots of talk about Strong's country background and disinterest in dealing with the media, the press conference will be the first time that Longhorns fans will have to a chance to see Strong in action and view how he handles the part of his job that is not known as his strength.
Will Strong's supposed lack of polish hurt him at Texas in dealing with the media or boosters? It seems that the cult of personality that was built up around former head coach Mack Brown overemphasized the importance of that side of the job -- Strong needs to put Texas in a position to win football games and if he does that, the boosters aren't going to care if he doesn't schmooze them the same way that Brown did.
As always, winning is the bottom line and solves a lot of problems. If not all the problems.
The press conference will also provide an opportunity for athletic director Steve Patterson to dictate some of the narrative of the hire, a process that he started on Sunday:

The final tweet brings up another significant discussion for the press conference -- where Strong is in the process of hiring assistant coaches to fill out his staff, with the most critical hire being his new offensive coordinator.
With that being said, it's time for Strong to make his first impression on the Texas fan base.
