Texas got a couple of clutch RBI singles on Saturday and scattered a 11 West Virginia singles in a 2-0 victory. Nathan Thornhill got the start for the ill Dillon Peters and wasn't particularly sharp (4 IP, 7 H, 0 ER). Chad Hollingsworth threw a pair of scoreless innings and John Curtiss finished out the final three frames for the Texas shutout.
Texas desperately needed this win and will need to follow things up with a solid showing on Sunday. The Horns will throw Lukas Schiraldi today and may need several innings from Morgan Cooper, Travis Duke and John Curtiss (only 32 pitches on Saturday). A win today would put Texas back on track for a regional hosting gig with a series win next week. A loss would put the Texas season in disarray.
Sounds fun!
First pitch is at noon. This'll be your open thread and you can find video here.
