Fire takes Mack Brown's home in North Carolina

Wishing the best to the Brown family

A fire destroyed Mack Brown's home in North Carolina last week, just after he moved all of his Longhorns memorabilia into it.

The news was reported by the Statesman yesterday. Here is a write-up from KVUE:

A fire in North Carolina last week destroyed a home belonging to former University of Texas head football coach Mack Brown.

He had just moved much of his UT memorabilia from his Austin home to that house.

He told our partners at the Austin-American Statesman all that's left are two chimneys.

This is incredibly sad news. Brown has spent a lot of time at his Linville, N.C., residence since stepping down at Texas. The house is located in the North Carolina mountains, about two hours northwest of Charlotte--where ESPN's southern studios are located. He started working for ESPN this Saturday-and did a pretty solid job as an analyst.

Keep the Brown family in your thoughts and prayers this week. Can't imagine what it would be like to lose everything in a fire.
