The Texas Longhorns have been in Shanghai and Hangzhou all week in preparation for Friday's season opener against the Washington Huskies and, by all accounts, the trip has been a positive learning experience for all involved so far.
The players have had to keep up with the classes going on back home that they've missed this week, but freshman guard Eric Davis is just excited about the opportunity.
"I woke up in Shanghai and thought, 'wow.' I never would have thought something like this would have happened and given me this opportunity to go to a foreign country," he wrote for TexasSports.com. "It's not something honestly I dreamed of doing as a kid, but I'm extremely grateful for this opportunity. My mindset has to been to stay open-minded about everything, and I'm really enjoying this experience."
The Horns will tip off against the Huskies at 9 p.m. CT on ESPN.
