Texas Longhorns decimated by injuries in Texas Tech Red Raiders loss

The upcoming opponent is banged up, too, but the Horns are reeling from attrition right now.

The bye week wasn't long enough for the Texas Longhorns to get anywhere close to full strength and another long gameweek may not help much either after the Horns lost numerous players to injuries against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Austin on Thanksgiving Day.

Here's the full injury list, which doesn't even include the three starters who missed the game:

That's eight players who didn't finish the game, not including sophomore defensive tackle Poona Ford, who was also banged up.

And that's in addition to senior running back Johnathan Gray (foot), sophomore running back D'Onta Foreman (pinky), and freshman offensive guard Patrick Vahe (knee), three key contributors who suffered injuries against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

Since senior linebacker Peter Jinkens was on crutches and may have had a cast on his right ankle at the end of his game, it's possible that he could miss the next game, as could Heard if he has any lingering effects from his concussion. Beyond those players, it's all major speculation, but suffice it to say that the Longhorns are the walking wounded heading into the season finale.
