The Texas Longhorns finally decided to make a move on Euless Trinity defensive tackle Chris Daniels on Thursday, officially extending an offer:
I know it's late but Proud to say I just got offered by UT #Longhorns #Texas pic.twitter.com/4ubjh3XsL2

As the consensus four-star prospect notes, the offer is definitely late in the process for him, as he intends to make a decision at 6 p.m. CT on Friday. In September, Daniels named a top five of Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas A&M and has taken official visits to Oklahoma, Michigan, and Ohio State, so it's still possible that Texas could receive an official visit after his decision.
In fact, that is likely the hope right now, as Daniels has been one of the curious omissions from the offer list despite the glaring need for an impact defensive tackle like the Euless Trinity prospect, who recorded 45 tackles and seven sacks as a junior.
He's ranked as the No. 170 player nationally, the No. 19 defensive tackle, and the No. 26 player in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Oklahoma currently has the lead in his 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions at 50%.
