Texas Longhorns defensive back Duke Thomas provided leadership to the defense in his senior season, and talks about his experience in this Longhorn Network feature.
Thomas played running back and wide receiver at Copperas Cove High School before moving to Austin and starting in the secondary for most of his final three seasons. As a senior, he finished third on the team with 58 tackles and added three tackles for loss, an interception, and five passes defensed.
The 5'10, 178-pounder discusses the transition, the mental aspect of the game, and what it means to play at DBU.
Texas defensive coordinator Vance Bedford and head coach Charlie Strong also weigh in during the feature.
"Usually you have a problem when you bring in a group of freshmen and then you have a senior, because they don't want to communicate," Strong says in the video. "But Duke has always been there for them, and they always feel like Duke could do no wrong. They would be watching tape and say, 'watch how Duke does it.'"
