Reports: 5-stars Soso Jamabo, Daylon Mack eliminate Texas

Whomp, whomp.

The dream National Signing Day that existed as a potentiality not so long for the Texas Longhorns took two more body punches with Monday evening reports that the Horns are out of the running with five-star Plano West running back Soso Jamabo and five-star Gladewater defensive tackle Daylon Mack.

As of late last week, both prospects were telling people close to the Texas program that they planned on signing with Texas on Wednesday, a source told Burnt Orange Nation on Thursday night.

However, that all changed over the weekend, as Mack woke up on Saturday morning saying that he knew his destination.

Now 247Sports and Horns Digest are reporting that both prospects changed their minds within the last several days. According to the reports, both players informed the staff of their respective decisions.

Though Jamabo, an infrequent Twitter user, shared his thoughts on the reports, if they are true he's headed to UCLA to join former Texas wide receiver target Ryan Newsome and Mack will choose between TCU and Texas A&M. In early January, Mack named the Horned Frogs as his leader.

The two 2015 Under Armour All-Americans represented the remaining five-star prospects on the Texas recruiting board.
