Following a flurry of quarterback offers throughout the week, the Texas Longhorns added another target on Friday by offering Orlando (Fla.) West Orange's Ervin "Woody" Barrett, according to Scout.

The 6'2, 213-pounder is ranked as a consensus four-star prospect. Considered an athlete in the 247Sports Composite rankings, Barrett is the No. 11 prospect in that category, as well as the No. 25 player in Florida and the No. 214 recruit overall.

He currently holds offers from Auburn, Kentucky, Louisville, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

The most serious contender for his services at this time looks like Auburn -- he told 247Sports that the Tigers are his leader on Wednesday. He grew up idolizing former Auburn star quarterback Cam Newton and has a close relationship with the staff there.

As a result, Auburn currently leads in his Crystal Ball:

Basically, this one looks like an uphill battle for the Horns at this point.

Well built with a frame that will be increasingly stacking muscle on muscle if he keeps gaining weight, Barrett looks like an outside linebacker. And his athleticism on film is more impressive than the 4.95 40-yard dash he ran at the Orlando NFTC last year. A 4.44 shuttle time and 34.7-inch vertical leap seem like more accurate indicators of his athletic ability.

In the open field, Barrett shows some noticeable acceleration when attempting to pull away from defenders. He's also a physical runner who can punish smaller opponents.

As a passer, he's not especially raw, even though he could stand to shorten up his delivery and adjust his arm slot slightly. Based on his junior film, he looks like a strong bet to remain at the position in college despite the classification as an athlete.
