Euless Trinity High offensive lineman Patrick Vahe signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday, officially making him a Texas Longhorn.
The consensus four-star center was the 16th best player in the state of Texas and the 130th best player nationally, according to 247's composite rankings. The 6-foot-2, 300-pound Vahe picked Texas all the way back in July of 2013, which feels like centuries ago in the recruiting realms.
Vahe will come in and compete with early OL enrollees Ronnie Major, Tristan Nickelson, Garrett Thomas, Connor Williams and Brandon Hodges to help patch together the weakest unit of the Texas offense. Offensive linemen are typically guys that benefit from taking a redshirt year, but some experts believe that Vahe could contribute early in his career.
Vahe held offers from UCLA and Baylor, but he has been solid with the Longhorns for a over a year, even with the major coaching changes.
