Thanks Obama!
President Obama posted his bracket for the 2015 NCCAA Tournament and the leader of the free world has the No. 11 seed Texas Longhorns upsetting the No. 6 seed Butler Bulldogs in the second round on Thursday.
Unfortunately, the president then has the Longhorns falling to the Fighting Irish in the third round to keep head coach Rick Barnes from making his first Sweet 16 appearance since the DJ Augustin-led group made the Elite Eight in 2008 before falling to Derrick Rose and the Memphis Tigers.
The president explains his picks here.
President Obama isn't taking a major risk -- the Longhorns are considered one of the more underrated teams in the Tournament. ESPN's BPI rankings have Texas as the No. 25 team nationally, only two spots behind Butler. And NumberFire.com has the Horns are one of the five most underrated teams in the entire field, as that site's proprietary metric ranks the squad No. 19 in the country, which should be good enough for a No. 5 seed and favorable second-round match up.
There probably aren't many brackets out there that have Texas advancing past red-hot Notre Dame, but the Horns do look to have a strong shot to play some basketball on Saturday.
