A press conference from Texas Longhorns head coach Charlie Strong at 1 p.m. CT on the Longhorn Network officially kicks off spring practice for the Horns leading up to the annual Orange-White game on April 18 at 1 p.m. CT on the Longhorn Network.

Strong's press conference is also available through TexasSports.com.

There hasn't been an announcement about the possibility of open practices this spring, so it's not clear whether fans will get the opportunity to see the team in person before the Orange-White game. However, the Longhorn Network will air parts of the first practice on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. CT.

The spring roster is also out, and while the school didn't update the weights of any players formerly on the roster, the early enrollees do have numbers and updated heights and weights:

Name Position No. Height Weight
Malik Jefferson LB 46 6'2 222
Connor Williams OL 55 6'5 291
Brandon Hodges OL 58 6'5 292
Tristan Nickelson OL 75 6'8 312
Garrett Thomas OL 79 6'7 296
Quincy Vasser DE 92 6'4 259

  • The height and weight listed for Jefferson are almost exactly the same as his measurements from the Dallas NFTC last year (6'2, 220).
  • Based on the mass added by Williams, he has a chance to contribute early because he's no longer undersized.
  • Seeing Thomas check in at under 300 pounds is a testament to this work reshaping his body because his last listing in high school was 306 pounds. As for the 6'7 height, he's apparently grown recently since in the school's picture of the early enrollees, Thomas does only look an inch shorter than Nickelson.
  • Based on the same picture, Vasser is much closer to Jefferson's height than his listed 6'4.
