Today's open thread is brought to you by @GroupMe. Many thanks for the site support.
After a few days of mourning for the end of the season for our Longhorns, it's back to the Madness, and one of the best four days of the entire year.
Thursday evening brings us four games and four spots in the regional finals.
* In the spot Texas hoped to occupy in the Midwest, the #3 seed Fighting Irish take on everyone's favorite coach Greg Marshall and #7 Wichita State. Tip is at 6:00 pm on CBS.
* Tipping at 6:45 pm on TBS, the first West Region semifinal features (4) North Carolina hoping to upset a Wisconsin crew that's a #1 seed in both basketball and Scrabble.
* The late game on CBS will be the other semifinal out Midwest, where a fun little trash talking war has broken out between (5) West Virginia and (1) Kentucky. Winner gets the Moonshine Trophy.
* And finally, the second West semifinal will pit 2nd-seeded Arizona against #6 Xavier, who always seem to be around come the second weekend. Sticking around until Saturday will be much tougher.
With Texas out, it's bittersweet, but enjoy the next four days.
