In the aftermath of multiple reports that the Texas Longhorns will replace Rick Barnes, former point guard Myck Kabongo appeared to take a shot at his old head coach on Twitter:

The timing of the tweet strongly suggested it was about Barnes and former pitcher Nathan Thornhill certainly took it that way, firing back his own response after blasting other Texas athletes apparently celebrating Barnes' departure:

Indeed, Barnes is unequivocally the best basketball coach in Texas history, while Kabongo is now with his third D-League team after going undrafted in 2013. The consensus No. 15 prospect in the 2015 class, Kabongo never lived up to the hype that accompanied him to campus, averaging 9.6 points per game as a freshman before NCAA sanctions robbed him of 23 games his sophomore season. He scored 14.5 points and dished out 5.5 assists per game upon his return in 11 games, but never made an NBA roster after leaving school. As for what beef Kabongo might have with Barnes, that isn't entirely clear.

Kabongo and Thornhill both deleted their tweets not long after posting and then made up:
