The Texas Longhorns are hosting one of the numerous in-state running back prospects with an offer on Monday, as Plano's Brandon Stephens made his way down from the Metroplex for a visit, Horns247 confirmed.

The 6'1, 200-pound running back said that he was excited about meeting head coach Charlie Strong and his staff.

A bit under the radar before his Texas offer, Stephens nonetheless has an increasingly impressive national list, including Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Ohio State, Oregon State, SMU, Stanford, Tulsa, Washington, and Wisconsin.

In the last year, he's taken unofficial visits to Baylor, Ohio State, and Notre Dame, along with camp stops at Indiana, Northwestern, and Oklahoma. However, there are not currently any 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for Stephens.

As a junior, the Plano product was productive, if not especially explosive -- he ran for 1,268 yards and 21 touchdowns on 196 carries for an average of 6.5 yards per attempt.
