Monday's practice for the Texas Longhorns marked the 12th of the spring, leaving only two more practices and the Orange-White game on Saturday before offseason conditioning takes center stage once again.
Fortunately, the one-on-drills posted by the school represent some rare snapshots into the individual match ups taking place at Frank Denius Fields over the course of the last week.
Last Wednesday, a video highlighted the battles between the wide receivers and defensive backs, with notable plays from sophomore wide receiver Dorian Leonard and junior wide receiver Jacorey Warrick:
Then, on Friday, the offensive linemen and defensive linemen went head-to-head. Senior defensive end Shiro Davis flashed a nice move, while junior defensive tackle Hassan Ridgeway showcased his remarkable strength. For those interested in the young offensive linemen, tackle Connor Williams had an impressive effort in his rep.
Finally, the running backs and linebackers went head-to-head during Monday's practice. And judging by the performance of senior running back Johnathan Gray, he won't be coming off the field this fall on third downs or in other obvious passing situations, although sophomore D'Onta Foreman and redshirt freshman Duke Catalon also held their own, for the most part.
