Texas Longhorns post-spring depth chart

Which players emerged as starters during spring practice?

With spring practice concluded for the Texas Longhorns following Saturday's Orange-White game, it's time to take another look at the depth chart heading into summer conditioning.

Since several important contributors and potential starters missed all or part of spring practice, this depth chart attempts to include the players who will be back at some point during the summer to provide the most accurate look possible at the current starting lineup as it would look against Notre Dame if there are no changes during fall camp.

* denotes a player that missed all or part of spring with an injury

-- Several players are not on the above depth chart. Senior cornerback Sheroid Evans is reportedly out for the season after suffering a non-contact knee injury early in spring practice and sophomore offensive lineman Darius James was hurt and is currently focused on resolving some academic difficulties. As a result, James may not be with the team in the fall. Also, sophomore wide receiver Roderick Bernard will likely miss all or part of the 2015 campaign after tearing his ACL late last season and sophomore safety Erik Huhn hasn't been healthy during his time at Texas, putting his future with the Horns in jeopardy. Junior defensive end Caleb Bluiett had ACL surgery in early January and may not be fully healthy when fall camp starts.

-- Based on the initial watch of the Orange-White game, junior offensive tackle Camrhon Hughes is out of the rotation, making him a potential attrition candidate. Redshirt freshman Garrett Gray also seems to have a long way to go to potentially contribute.

-- Since Texas rarely uses three linebackers and may only do so during one or two games next season, the strongside linebacker position is no longer on the depth chart since it's so difficult to project who would even play there this season. The same goes for fullback since Alex De La Torre is now working as a tight end.

-- Since the Longhorns did not kick off at all during the spring game and probably haven't even practiced with that particular unit yet, the above list is merely a best guess based on the end of last season.

-- The biggest changes on the depth chart are the emergence of junior wide receiver Jacorey Warrick, early enrollee right tackle Connor Williams, and senior Alex De La Torre earning the starting job at tight end, for now.
