Arlington Lamar teammates and close friends Shane Buechele and Chris Owens once expected to play together in college, but are now battling it out on social media in attempts to influence four-star defensive tackle Kendell Jones:

Those are the two teams believed to be strong contenders for Jones, who will announce his college choice between the Longhorns, Crimson Tide, Baylor Bears, LSU Tigers, and Texas A&M Aggies at Killeen Shoemaker's spring game on Friday, which begins at 6:15 p.m. CT.
Unfortunately for Buechele and Texas fans, Owens and Alabama appear to have the upper hand. Despite numerous visits to Austin over the last several years, it appears that one recent trip to Tuscaloosa in April was enough to convince Jones that his college football future is playing for head coach Nick Saban and Alabama.
