Baseball Selection Show Open Thread

The Longhorns find out where they're headed today at 11 AM.

Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY Sports

The College Baseball tournament selection show is on ESPNU and WatchESPN at 11 AM CDT. Texas is not likely to have to leave the state, as three non-Big 12 schools in Texas have been named regional hosts. On the other hand, Texas is likely to be one of, if not the, lowest-RPI three seeds and as such could be sent to likely overall top seed LSU.

Most predictions seem to have the Longhorns as the 3 seed at the Dallas Baptist regional. That makes a lot of sense, because whatever the NCAA says, one big consideration is attendance. Sending Texas to College Station does nothing for them on that front, as the Aggies will sell out regardless. Putting Texas in Dallas will guarantee sellouts in that regional as well, so look for the Longhorns to end up at DBU with an appearance at Houston's regional the next most likely.

Update: The Longhorns have indeed landed in Dallas, and will face Oregon State in their first game--a date and time for which have yet to be set.
