Is Texas Longhorns kicker Nick Rose really spending all of his time attemping back-flip field goals instead of working on his accuracy, which was not especially impressive in 2014?

Oh. Okay.
That particular effort was good from 80 yards out. 8-0.
Since Rose averaged a touchback on more than 70 percent of his kickoffs last season, there weren't any questions about his leg strength. But to hit a field goal from 80 yards away? That's pretty crazy.
For the record, the longest field goal in NCAA history happened in the state of Texas when Abilene Christian's Ove Johansson connected from 69 yards out against East Texas State in 1976.
Don't expect the senior to get an opportunity from that distance in 2015, but if the Horns have to attempt a game-winning field goal, Rose clearly has the leg strength to hit from well beyond 50 yards.
