WATCH: Charlie Strong talks Texas Longhorns' new offense

New offensive coaching hires are expected to make an immediate impact.

The Texas Longhorns have a new offensive coordinator in Sterlin Gilbert and will have a new-look offense next season. In the above video, head coach Charlie Strong talks with the Longhorn Network about what Gilbert and the other new offensive coaches will bring to the team.

Strong emphasizes the team will be more up-tempo, while still focusing on a strong run game and fundamentals. Strong also says Gilbert will be given freedom to run the offense with his staff.

You can learn much more about Gilbert here, but he was hired away from Tulsa, where he served as co-offensive coordinator last season.Tulsa's offense ranked 13th in total offense with 507 yards per game in 2015, averaging over 300 yards passing and 150 yards rushing. Texas is hoping to bring some of that to the 40 Acres next season.
