Here are the latest developments for the Texas Longhorns on the recruiting trail:
-- On Saturday, wide receiver commit Reggie Hemphill tweeted about another silent commitment in the class. On Sunday evening, multiple Longhorns commits and targets sent out a series of tweets featuring nothing more than "X":

That's Michigan defensive tackle commit Jordan Elliott who sent out the latter tweet. Fellow defensive tackle target D'Andre Christmas-Giles also joined in, as did Southlake Carroll athlete Lil'Jordan Humphrey.
What does it all mean? Who knows, but it's just a little bit more drama added to the general craziness surrounding the end of the 2016 recruiting cycle.
-- Texas head coach Charlie Strong was in Louisiana on Monday checking in on Madison Prep's Malcolm Roach:

-- The wild rumor from the weekend is that Waco cornerback Eric Cuffee was sent home from his official visit to Arkansas and had his offer pulled because he was recruiting for Texas while he was in Fayetteville. The truth may be much more benign than that, but the Longhorns continue to look like the overwhelming favorite with the 2016 Under Armour All-American whose decision remains imminent.
-- Here's some good news with Baylor offensive tackle commit Patrick Hudson:

The Silsbee product spent parts of three days in Austin last week and then canceled his planned official visit to Texas A&M to visit Georgia instead. There haven't been any post-visit indications that Hudson is seriously considering a flip to the Longhorns, but Texas does appear to be the only other in-state program receiving serious consideration at this time.
-- Katy running back Kyle Porter was one of the official visitors on campus in Austin this weekend, but instead of the typical post-visit bump that happens in most recruitments, it's TCU that is trending with Porter at this time, as two 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions came in for the Horned Frogs on Sunday:
So perhaps the commitment of running back Darius Anderson to TCU really didn't help Texas at all and perhaps the loss of running backs coach Tommie Robinson is having an impact.
-- There's now an announcement time set for Alief Elsik linebacker Dontavious Jackson and his teammate, defensive back Chris Brown:

Aldine Davis linebacker Jeffrey McCulloch will also announce his decision on ESPNU on National Signing Day.
-- It was a big visit weekend for a lot of Texas targets, as McCulloch, defensive tackle D'Andre Christmas-Giles, and defensive end Mark Jackson all visited Texas A&M. The one to watch there is Jackson, the longtime Aggies pledge who was on a visit to solidify his pledge.
Meanwhile, LSU defensive end commit Erick Fowler took a similar visit to Baton Rouge that could increase the importance of McCulloch to the Texas class if Fowler and Jackson stick with their original decisions.
Safety Brandon Jones also visited Arkansas, but the Razorbacks aren't thought to be a serious contender in his recruitment.
-- With Missouri safety commit DeMarkus Acy canceling his Texas official visit for next weekend, right now it appears that Jackson will be the only visitor on campus.
