What is Texas waiting for? Postponing the inevitable is a bad idea.

So long, Charlie. Even though Texas has talent as good as any Big 12 team on the schedule, the goal of reaching eight wins is slipping away.

Texas has been outmatched and outplayed by lesser opponents this season.

Even the New York Post has turned against Strong. “Saturday’s eventual 24-21 loss to Kansas State felt like the unofficial funeral for Strong as Texas’ head coach. He’s done. Whether it’s tomorrow or the day after the season ends, his time has run out in Austin. This is a loss that you just don’t recover from.”

Sports journalists should really be careful about their choice of language. “It’s getting awfully tight right now, the noose around Charlie Strong’s neck.” - ESPN’s Adnan Virk
