The Texas Longhorns will be without junior wide receiver Lorenzo Joe on Saturday against the Texas Tech Red Raiders due to the shoulder injury that Joe suffered last weekend, the school revealed on Monday.
And while Joe hasn’t officially been ruled out for the season and is still undergoing evaluation by the Texas medical staff, the initial prognosis isn’t positive, with one report that the 6’3, 204-pounder suffered a fractured shoulder.
The injury occurred on a 63-yard catch and run by the Abilene Cooper product against the Baylor Bears, the longest of his career. Joe immediately went left the field following the play, which ended with him falling hard on his shoulder.
Joe has eight receptions for 102 yards this season after making his first appearance of the year against Oklahoma. A hamstring injury in fall camp caused him to miss the first four games, so the shoulder injury is his second significant setback this season.
One of the team’s best blockers, Joe has 15 career catches and one touchdown.
