The LSU Tigers have locked up one of the linchpins of head coach Ed Orgeron’s plan outlined to officials during his job interview on Saturday — keep defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.
According to the Baton Rouge Advocate and Geaux247, multiple sources indicated that Aranda has agreed to a new three-year deal to remain with LSU that will include a significant raise.
Because Aranda spent Monday on the recruiting trail, it’s currently a verbal agreement between the two sides:

Aranda was one of the early reported targets for new Texas head coach Tom Herman, as the two were roommates at Cal Lutheran, but now the ‘Horns will have to look elsewhere.
The only other candidate on the radar at this time is current Houston interim head coach Todd Orlando, who coordinate the defense for Herman. Orlando is a candidate to receive the Cougars job permanently.
