To surge with key in-state five-star prospects under new Texas Longhorns head coach Tom Herman, the ‘Horns need to land Florida State Seminoles recruiting coordinator/tight ends coach Tim Brewster.
However, that pursuit may have taken a hit on Tuesday when Brewster tweeted the following:
I am absolutely #NoleBlooded!!
— Tim Brewster (@TimBrewster) November 29, 2016
The tweet appeared to address reports that Brewster is a target of Herman and “likely” to join the Texas staff.
On the other hand, it wasn’t a flat-out statement that he’s staying in Tallahassee — given that he’s still employed by the Seminoles right now, there isn’t really anything else he can say.
So while Brewster’s tweet isn’t particularly positive for Texas, it’s also unlikely to be the final word on whether the ‘Horns can bring him back to Austin.
And with Florida State ready to start preparing for a bowl game, landing Brewster before the beginning of the dead period in December always seemed like a longshot.
Brewster issued his tweet while he was in Texas recruiting five-star Houston Episcopal teammates Marvin Wilson and Walker Little.
