To win against the Texas Tech Red Raiders in Lubbock, the Texas Longhorns will have to overcome the absences of linebacker Anthony Wheeler and offensive tackle Tristan Nickelson, according to the school.
Wheeler, a sophomore starter, is back home in the Dallas area for a family funeral. The team’s leading tackler on the season with 61 stops, Wheeler also has 2.5 tackles for loss. a half a sack, and two forced fumbles.
The injury-plagued junior season for Nickelson continued, with a head injury his latest ailment. He’s also suffered from ankle and leg issues as he’s traded the starting spot at right tackle with fellow junior Brandon Hodges, who will get the start on Saturday.
