WATCH: Texas CB Kris Boyd seals win with late INT vs. Texas Tech

#bEASTTexas

With time running out on the clock, the Texas Tech Red Raiders faced a 3rd and 10 from the 20-yard line of the Texas Longhorns and a 45-37 deficit.

Under pressure and forced left out of the pocket, Tech quarterback Patrick Mahomes tried to slice the lead to two with a throw to the end zone. And Longhorns cornerback Kris Boyd wasn’t having any of it:

The interception with nine seconds remaining sealed the game and was the first of Boyd’s career.

The sophomore from Gilmer has been the team’s most consistent cornerback this season, progressively playing better and with fewer mental mistakes every week.

Good enough for All-Big 12 consideration?

Perhaps not at the moment, but Boyd isn’t far off as he’s fulfilling the potential that he showed as a US Army All-American in the 2015 class and the consensus No. 11 cornerback in the class.

One thing that hasn’t ever been in question is whether Boyd has that “dawg” in him. So you know that Quandre the Giant approves:

Have yourself a well-deserved retweet spree for that game-sealing play, Mr. Boyd.
