Texas CB commit Kobe Boyce: ‘I’m 100% committed’

Good news for the ‘Horns.

The recent hire of new Texas Longhorns head coach Tom Herman hasn’t given Lake Dallas cornerback reason to reconsider his longtime pledge to the ‘Horns, he tweeted on Saturday:

The 6’0, 163-pounder committed to Texas in early April, but then took visits to Texas A&M and Iowa. In September Oklahoma hosted him for an official visit and there were concerns that he would flip to the Sooners — four predictions came in to the 247Sports Crystal Ball, three of them from writers who cover the Longhorns.

But now it appears that Boyce is ready to sign with Texas in February after a brief introductory period to Herman and his potential position coach, Jason Washington.

Boyce is a consensus three-star prospect ranked as the No. 538 player nationally, the No. 53 cornerback, and the No. 72 player in Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Texas currently has seven commitments in the 2017 class, a group that also includes Nacogdoches cornerback Josh Thompson.
