Winter Parker (Fla.) wide receiver Jordan Pouncey elected to end his longtime commitment to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Wednesday via Twitter:

The 6’2, 185-pounder committed to Notre Dame in June, but continued to keep his options open, taking subsequent visits to UCF and Miami. The Hurricanes finally offered less than 10 days ago.

Ultimately, the loss of offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock to Cincinnati on Tuesday and the poor season on the field for Notre Dame probably contributed to his Wednesday decision.

The Texas Longhorns entered his recruitment with an offer on December 20 and he may now be more likely to take an official visit in January.

Pouncey is a consensus three-star prospect ranked as the No. 717 player nationally, the No. 105 wide receiver, and the No. 98 player in Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Currently holding a pledge from Tyler John Tyler wide receiver Damion Miller, Texas likely has one spot remaining at wide receiver, with TCU pledge Omar Manning the top target. The Lancaster product took an official visit to Austin prior to the dead period beginning in December.
