Of all the Longhorns pledges, Roach is the one to watch on National Signing Day, but don't anticipate any bad news.

There haven't been any official public affirmations from Baton Rouge (La.) Madison Prep defensive end Malcolm Roach regarding his pledge to the Texas Longhorns following a South Carolina Gamecocks official visit over the weekend. However, he did tweet this out on Sunday morning:

So that's obviously a good sign, coming as it did before he was even back in Louisiana.

Judging by the pictures that he sent out via Twitter, he certainly enjoyed his visit to Columbia:

Of course, Roach's Twitter feed wasn't all Gamecocks-related when he was on his official visit, as he retweeted an edit of Lil'Jordan Humphrey's commitment to the Longhorns and offered the following on Saturday:

Texas early enrollee Demarco Boyd certainly had a message for Roach over the weekend:

Right now, it seems that was the case and Roach still looks locked in to signing with Texas at some point on Wednesday, as there are not any 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for the 6'3, 255-pounder to flip his pledge to South Carolina, as there's no real confidence from the South Carolina side that he will do so.

And that's good news for Texas, since Roach provides a greater value to the class than his relatively modest mid three-star ranking would suggest -- he's still growing quickly, still possesses excellent athleticism for his size, and fits the profile of defensive players head coach Charlie Strong has previously molded into NFL prospects. Throw in the fact that the Longhorns need strongside defensive end prospects who could play four technique in odd fronts and Roach is an important piece in the 2016 cycle.
