Austin Westlake quarterback Sam Ehlinger is not just a rising prospect in the recruiting rankings, he's also a Texas Longhorns commit, lifelong fan, and the leader of the 2017 recruiting class for the Longhorns. So he had a message to deliver for the other prospects in his class when he was in attendance for the Texas Junior Day on Saturday:

Ehlinger is on the left with wide receiver commit Damion Miller of Tyler John Tyler (middle) and tight end commit Major Tennison of Bullard. And so while Ehlinger is locked in with his commitment, Miller and Tennison have both told recruiting services in recent weeks that they are considering taking other visits, making the trip to Austin this weekend especially important -- Ehlinger was no doubt recruiting them as much of other prospects.
The key uncommitted prospects Ehlinger was speaking to? How about No. 1 safety Jeffrey Okudah, five-star linebacker Baron Browning, and No. 2 inside linebacker Anthony Hines, who were all on campus on Saturday.
On Junior Days, the focus often tends to the micro -- which prospects received offers, who wasn't able to make it -- but the bonds that recruits start to form while on campus could be hugely important at the end of the process. If Ehlinger had anything to do with it, Saturday was a step in the right direction.
