The Texas Longhorns remain in a favorable position for Manvel safety Derrick Tucker, who released his top five on Saturday evening via Twitter:

The list came a day after Tucker attended the Texas Junior Day in Austin. A teammate of 2016 wide receiver signee Reggie Hemphill, known as Recruiter Reggie for his efforts in his own class, Tucker may be the safety that the 2017 Longhorns class revolves around -- though South Grand Prairie standout Jeffrey Okudah now has Texas back in the mix after his own visit for the Junior Day, there's still a long ways to go with him. And rising Houston Lamar safety Grant Delpit hasn't yet been to Austin since receiving his offer recently, having taken in Junior Days at LSU and Texas A&M this weekend.

Note the absence of the Aggies on Tucker's list despite a recent offer and the lack of SEC schools in general -- in evaluating the current group, the Longhorns would seem to be in a strong position based on how well those programs typically recruit against Texas.

Not only that, but since last July, Texas has dominated Tucker's 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, with seven now in total. Unless something changes significantly, the 'Horns look like the runaway favorite with the Manvel product.

A 6'2.5, 210-pounder, Tucker is a consensus four-star prospect rated as the No. 89 player nationally, the No. 5 safety, and the No. 14 player in the state of Texas, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
