According to a report from Horns247, the Texas Longhorns extended an offer to Baton Rouge (La.) Southern University Lab outside linebacker Christopher Allen on Sunday.

Allen is a 6'4, 222-pounder ranked as a consensus four-star prospect, the No. 102 player nationally, the No. 8 outside linebacker, and the No. 5 player in the state of Louisiana, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. His offer list currently includes a number of top national programs, including Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss.

The hope for the Longhorns is that the deep Louisiana ties of defensive line coach Brick Haley will help with Allen, but as with most prospects from The Boot with offers from the home-state Tigers, it won't be an easy task to pull him out of Louisiana. In fact, all 10 predictions in his 247Sports Crystal Ball are for LSU.

Allen's most recent visits were to LSU and Alabama for Junior Days.
