The No. 1 junior college defensive end in the country by 247Sports, Mississippi Gulf Coast CC's Isaiah Buggs, may not be a realistic option for the Texas Longhorns moving forward, as the 'Horns missed the cut when Buggs released his top 10 via Twitter on Thursday afternoon:

If the staff continues to pursue the 6'5, 280-pounder who originally hails from Ruston, La., it's possible that things could change, but that seems rather unlikely at this point -- if Texas wants to land a junior college defensive end, it will likely have to be someone else.

So far, the staff hasn't yet targeted any other defensive ends from junior colleges and 247Sports only has 14 total junior college players ranked as this time, illustrating just how early it is in the process for those players. And both of the other weak-side defensive ends currently ranked by the service are already committed to other schools, meaning that it may be some time before another name surfaces in connection to Texas.
