Former Texas PG Isaiah Taylor misses out on NBA Combine invite

The team's leading scorer last season suffered a setback in pre-draft process.

If former Texas Longhorns point guard Isaiah Taylor was banking on the connections of his new agent securing him an invite to the NBA Combine, those hopes were for naught, as Taylor and center Prince Ibeh were not among the 63 players invited to participate.

Had Taylor not hired an agent, he could have returned to school. He would have even been able to work out for one team without losing his eligibility. Now he'll have to count on securing individual workouts to have a hope of hearing his name called during the NBA Draft.

So whatever slim chance Taylor had of being drafted took a substantial hit by missing out on the Combine invite, increasing the odds that he'll have to play in the NBDL or oversesas next season. The odds were always high that he would have to go that route, but now his path seems a little more assured.
