Texas Longhorns golf earns a No. 1 seed in NCAA Tennessee regional

Top five teams from each region advance to the NCAA Championship.

The Texas Longhorns men's golf team is off to a good start as it steps up for a run at the NCAA championship.

The team has earned a No. 1 seed at the Franklin, Tennessee regional, earning the Big 12's automatic bid after claiming the league title.

Texas has already won six tournaments this year, including the last two they entered. On top of that, each player in the five-man lineup boasts at least one top-10 finish, and Beau Hossler and Gavin Hall each earned at least two medalist honors.

A set of six regional tournaments will take place May 16-18. Each will contain thirteen teams, with the top five teams advancing to the finals May 27-June 1 in Eugene, Oregon.
