Texas will hold open practice on August 7 as part of Fan Day festivities

The burnt orange faithful will have a chance to get a preview of the 2016 Texas Longhorns football team when head coach Charlie Strong and his staff open practice up to the public on Sunday, August 7.

Gates 1, 7, 27, 28, 32 will open on the east and west sides of the stadium at 9 a.m. CT for the open practice, which will begin at 9:35. Free parking is available at the following locations:

  • Manor Garage, located directly west of Mike A. Myers Stadium,
  • LBJ lots 37, 38, 39 located directly west of Frank Denius Fields
  • Lot 70 located directly south of Mike A. Myers Stadium.
  • Street parking along Robert Dedman Dr.

After the open practice, head coach Charlie Strong and assistant coaches will be available for autograph and picture opportunities in the Red McCombs Red Zone, while players will be available on the east concourse between Sections 27-31. They will be split into position groups with offensive players on one level and defensive players on another.
