Texas Ex Justin Tucker now the NFL’s highest paid kicker with a 4-year deal

Hook ‘em, Justin!

After proving his value is the league’s most accurate kicker over the past four seasons, former Longhorn and current Baltimore Raven Justin Tucker has signed a four-year deal to become the highest paid kicker in the NFL.

Considering Tucker’s considerable accolades through his first four seasons, the much needed pay raise is more than justified. After converting 87.8 percent of his 148 field goal attempts, Tucker now stands as the second-most accurate kicker in NFL history, behind only Dallas’ Dan Bailey’s remarkable 90.6 percent effort. Since entering the league, Tucker trails only New England’s Stephen Gostkowski in made field goals and points scored with 130 and 529, respectively.

To this point in his career, Tucker is a perfect 38-38 from 20-29 yards, 40-41 from 20-39 yards and 34-39 from 40-49 yards, as well as converting all 139 extra point attempts.

Despite all of this, Tucker and the Ravens nearly went separate ways after reports that the 26-year-old kicker would walk away from Baltimore if a long-term deal had not been reached by Friday. Luckily for the Ravens, that deal came to fruition just in time for Baltimore to hold onto a kicker on pace to become one of the greatest to ever play the game.

Aside from a video game, you’re unlikely to find a kicker as accurate and clutch as Tucker, which is now evident in his lucrative new deal. Texas fans, on the other hand, have been well-aware of this reality for quite some time now.
