Drake shows up in Texas basketball facilities... wearing Kentucky gear

New, comments

C’mon, dude.

NCAA Basketball: Kentucky Big Blue Madness Mark Zerof-USA TODAY Sports

Ahead of a Wednesday evening concert at the Frank Erwin Center with Future, noted frontrunner and basketball/airball aficionado Drake was spotted around the Texas Longhorns basketball facility on Tuesday.

But he didn’t take the opportunity to wear any burnt orange — instead freshman guard Andrew Jones and sophomore forward Tevin Mack caught Drake representing for the Kentucky Wildcats:

That’s Texas strength and conditioning coach Daniel Roose leading Drake around in the absence of head coach Shaka Smart, who coached the USA men’s U18 national team to a convincing victory over Puerto Rico in Chile earlier in the day.

The time on campus for Drake did not, however, include any time at the football facilities, to the chagrin of sophomore defensive end Charles Omenihu:

Maybe he didn’t want to take the increased risk of wearing that Kentucky shirt around the football players who are trying to be about the come up at Texas.

And what’s up with that Kentucky shirt anyway?

We know that Drake is ready to rep for just about anyone, from Kentucky (supposedly bae), Notre Dame (well, Skylar Diggins), Texas A&M (Johnny Football), Villanova, and VCU.

Thing is, if Drake is willing to rep for whomever, whenever, why not add some burnt orange to the collection? It’s not like he can claim he actually has any real college sports allegiances at this point.

Given the lack of credible claim to being a Kentucky fan (or real fan of anything other than basketball), it just seems kinda disrespectful.

But yo, whatever Drizzy, just hope that we don’t soon have reason to come back asking how about now?
