The Leander Police Department got a welcome surprise earlier this week when current Washington Redskins and former Texas Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy unexpectedly delivered coffee and donuts to the department, along with a note:

“Dear Officers,

I hope this note (and these donuts) find you well. I wanted to take the time to reach out and offer my gratitude to your department.

I appreciate all that you do for our community — not only in times of hardship — but each and every day that you bravely put the well-being of others before your own. Being tasked with the job of protecting the community of Austin is an incredibly difficult job, and your servitude is both honorable and commendable. I have the utmost respect for it, and you.

Thank you for all that you do.”

Nice surprise yesterday when Dunkin' Donuts and DD coffee were delivered with a nice note on behalf of Colt McCoy....

So that was a nice gesture from a player who has been around the Texas football facilities working out with freshman quarterback Shane Buechele this summer and has always represented himself and the university in the best possible manner.
