Nike’s release of the Week Zero Collection is becoming a fall rite of passage for fans of teams like the Texas Longhorns. On Thursday, the Texas football equipment Twitter account posted what appears to be the 2016 edition of the Longhorns Nike Week Zero shoes.
The University Co-Op not-so-subtly confirmed the news not long thereafter, so keep an eye out for an official announcement from Nike and the Co-Op in the near future.
So, burnt orange faithful, with these shoes retailing at $110 last year and probably commanding the same amount this year, are you going to cop them as part of your 2016 gameday wardrobe?
Personally, having bought the Texas Nike Week Zero shoes the last two years and having just ended a quest of two years to find the rare Nike Free Trainer 5.0 NRG Rivalry shoes from the 2013 Red River Rivalry (at a rather hefty price), I’m probably going sit this year out, but they may end up growing on me.
