The initial list of 55 gut-busting entries for the 12th annual “Big Tex Choice Awards” is now down to 34 semifinalists to earn eight spots in the mid-August finals:

The winners in the categories of best taste and most creative will be announced at an event in Fair Park on Sunday, August 28. And many of these dishes, including the winners, will be available at the State Fair for the annual Red River Rivalry between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Texas Longhorns at the Cotton Bowl.
