After adding a Texas offer on Saturday, three-star Westfield shooting guard Jase Febres will visit the Forty Acres on Wednesday, per Orangebloods.

The Longhorns became the latest to join what’s essentially became the Jase Febres sweepstakes, as the Houston area product had only one offer when the AAU season began and now sits with a total of 23. Among those pursuing Febres include Houston, Baylor, Stanford, Colorado and Kansas State and for varying reasons, there’s legitimate interest in each. But much of the same can now be said for Texas, a team Febres told Orangebloods he grew up a fan of, and now thanks to Smart’s latest commit - Royce Hamm - Febres will have an extra recruiter in his ear in the form of a childhood best friend. With that in mind, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that Hamm, who will also be on campus Wednesday, will be the one showing Febres around campus with the staff.

As for Febres and what he wants to get out of his first visit to Texas since his childhood: “I just want to make sure everything they’re saying is true, how they see me fitting in,” Febres told Orangebloods. “I know they have a lot of high, high major dudes. I don’t want to sit for two years, you know? Me and Royce are both going down there. I want to see how it feels and all of that.”

In Febres’ summer explosion is of any indication as to what kind of potential the 2017 product has in store, he may not be sitting behind high major talent for long, regardless of where he ends up.

Next week, Febres will visit Colorado during a family vacation and told Orangebloods that he plans to release a top 10 soon thereafter.
