In the midst of an indefinite suspension, sophomore wide receiver DeAndre McNeal recently elected to transfer from the Texas Longhorns program, but he still has a lot of love for his former teammates and a big desire for the September 4 season opener against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish:
The situation that surrounded McNeal’s suspension and resulting departure is still publicly unknown other than that he violated team rules, but here’s hoping that McNeal is able to get things back on track at his next destination and do as much finessin’ as possible.
And the call for Texas to steamroll Notre Dame? Well, that’s quite an echo of his head coach’s words last spring, when Charlie Strong warned the college football world that “we are going to steamroll everyone” once the Longhorns get things turned.
As for McNeal’s sentiments on his former coaches, it says a lot about Strong and his staff that there are no apparent hard feelings despite the discipline handed down to him.
