Lifetime Longhorn Myles Turner gifts grandma and aunt with new car

NBA: Playoffs-Indiana Pacers at Toronto Raptors Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

Former Texas Longhorn and Euless native Myles Turner has never been slow to credit those who’ve helped him get to where he’s at in life, which is now as a key member of the Indiana Pacers’ future. To give thanks to his grandma and aunt for all their help, Turner surprised them at Lushaj’s Pizza & Pasta in his hometown with a brand new Chevrolet Traverse.

About to surprise my Grandma and Aunt with a BRAND NEW CAR!

"My grandma and aunt are really responsible for the reasons why I'm here," Turner said before talking about his aunt assuring he made it to his AAU games and his grandma making sure to attend them all.

The entire surprise was certainly a feel-good moment, and much more than that for his grandma and aunt, who expressed their thanks with tears in their eyes.

“Don’t forget who got you here,” Turner said. “Don’t ever forget the people who first got you to where you are. I got a lot of love for my family and this is a small thing I can do.”

It shouldn’t be long before the second-year NBA player can begin doing much more for his family. Rather than spending his summer relaxing, Turner worked on creating his own logo, which is quite brand-able and should he ultimately become the talent his rookie campaign suggests he can, it’s a logo that could make him plenty of cash down the road.
