Consensus four-star Houston Westfield shooting guard Jase Febres will visit Shaka Smart and the Texas Longhorns Saturday, per multiple reports.

Febres burst onto the scene as an unranked prospect prior to a tremendous summer circuit and has now climbed to No. 55 in the nation, per 247Sports Composite. Texas has pursued the sharpshooting wing according with an offer and previously getting Febres on campus for a visit. Smart’s ever-popular relationship-building prowess has been on full display with the in-state product ever since, as Febres recently told Burnt Orange Nation was like “a father honestly, a great coach and a great man.”

Febres recently included Texas in his top five, along with Baylor, Houston, Texas A&M and Stanford. After visiting Houston last weekend, Febres will visit Stanford Sept. 17 and Baylor Sept. 24.

While Febres told Burnt Orange Nation that Texas was high on his list, he also noted that the rotation in front of him will be a deciding factor in his upcoming commitment, which could be problematic for Texas considering multiple guards may still be around following the upcoming season.

Febres plans to commit before his senior season. He ranks as the nation’s No. 13 shooting guard and the No. 6 player in Texas.

Four-star Norcoss (Ga.) power forward Rayshaun Hammonds was also originally scheduled to visit Texas this weekend, but that official visit date has been moved.
