Elite Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy outside linebacker Dylan Moses now has a decision date in place, which will bring some tremendously good news to one program in mid-December.

Among the programs considered to be legitimate contenders for the five-star Louisiana native’s services are Texas, LSU, Alabama, Ohio State, Miami and UCLA; all of which will receive official visits except for LSU, as the Tigers are right in the backyard of Moses’ hometown of Baton Rouge.

Moses is scheduled to officially visit Texas Oct. 15, which will be for the Longhorns’ redemption meeting with the Cyclones.

Moses named LSU his new leader towards the end of July after naming Texas his leader earlier during the spring, but a shaky start to the season could equate to the Tigers searching for a new head coach for the 2017 season, which could be detrimental to LSU’s chances with Moses. It also doesn’t hurt things on the Longhorns end that his connection with star Texas linebacker Malik Jefferson dates back to 2014.

It’s also worth noting that Texas linebacker targets Baron Browning and Anthony Hines will be making their decision about two weeks prior to Moses’ on Nov. 29, so their landing spots could impact where Moses ultimately commits.

But in any case, there’s reason to feel good about Texas’ chances with Moses going forward, and if LSU continues to struggle while Texas continues to surge, Dec. 15 could be a great day to be a Longhorn, as Moses just might decide to do.

Moses ranks as the No. 4 player in the nation and top outside linebacker, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
